The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in US has made about the effectiveness of Brass (by which Keysistant is made of) with minimum copper concentration of 60%. against germs, bacteria, microbes due to their oligodynamic properties i.e. the ability to sterilize themselves.

Keysistant is a type of Duplex solid brass with EPA registration code: 82012-6It (Category VI). It’s composed of 61-65% copper and 38-40% zinc. An extremely small percentage (< 0.20 to 0.30%) of trace metals, oxygen may occur naturally in the making that is difficult and unnecessary to remove. This do not impact effectiveness, quality and normal.

Oligodynamic (from the Greek oligos “few”, and dynamis “force”) effect refers to the toxic effect of metal ions on living cells i.e. the metal kills bacteria and disinfects its surface.

- Squirt few teaspoons of lemon on a tissue paper and rub on surface. Wipe residue with a damp cloth and dry.
- Dissolve 1 teaspoon salt in 1/2 cup vinegar and add flour to make a paste. Rub onto Keysistant and leave for few minutes. Then, rinse with warm water and dry.
- Clean gently by soft brush with soap or warm water with mix of baking soda and vinegar
- You can also use mild alcohol or Lysol wipes.
